This spacious farmhouse is located at the rural, wooded Westerwolde area (East Groningen, near the province of Drenthe and Germany, in between the recreation-parks Eemslandermeer and Wedderbergen). The farmhouse is situated in the quiet and spacious area adjacent to the Valley of the "Ruiten A"; and has all conveniences, whereby it is possible to take along your pets. The entire farmhouse is at your disposal so that ultimate privacy is guaranteed. You will not easily be bored, since in the direct surrounding there are numerous possibilities to enjoy yourself is an active or cultural way. The farmhouse facilitates max. 10 persons at a fair price.

Activities
Walking- and cycling tracks (the farmhouse is located near the "Vesting" track), in the neighborhood of a sub-tropic swimming pool, tennis courts, fishing- and sailing waters, manège, sauna, etc. Go visit the ancient fortified village of Bourtange, Smeerling (protected village area), the monastery at Ter Apel, the Saddlemakers museum, the greatest Ostridgefarm of Europe or the spa "Fontane" at Nieuwe Schans. And also don't forget to go by ancient steamtrain to the peat museum, or make a daytrip to the Noorder-Zoo, the toy museum or the city of Groningen with the famous Martini Tower. At the village of Vlagtwedde you will find all conveniences and various restaurants/pubs. Vlagtwedde is a very active community, where in te summermonths all kinds of activities are organized, like "the week of the Best" and the Vlagtwedder TT. But you can, of course, on a sunny summer morning also walk via the sandy path along the "Mussel A " canal to the local bakery (approx. 500m from the farmhouse), for fresh baked bread and typical Groninger sweet and thereafter enjoy a lazy day in the garden....
Prices and conditions
The farmhouse can be rented the year around. We make a difference in "high" and "low" season, related to the Dutch school holidays (see below). In the "low" season the rent for the entire farmhouse is € 365,00 (7days/1 week) Weekend € 235,- midweek € 245,-excl. tourist tax and incl. gas/water/light for max 5 persons. When more than 5 persons we will charge € 5,00 pp/pd. We can accommodate max 10 persons. During the "high" season the price is € 545,00 per week basis 5 persons max. and € 7,00 pp/pd up to 10 people. Weekend € 325,- midweek € 345,-. The costs for gas/water/light will be charged after you visit.
Wed require a security of € 100,00 plus € 60,00 for cleaning.
A dog is possible at € 5,00 per day.
Bedclothes and towels etc. are NOT included, we can arrange same at € 5,00 per set. Eiderdown (quilts), pillows and kitchen towels are included.
After we have confirmed you reservation, you have to transfer 50% of the total amount into our dedicated bank account. Upon receipt of the money and the countersigned rental agreement your reservation is firm. The remaining 50% has to be paid latest 4 weeks prior arrival. In case of a last minute booking a different arrangement will be made. The farmhouse is rented out at your exclusive risk and responsibility including the use of the garden, playground, meadow, paddock etc. The owners or their representatives can not be kept liable for any injuries, irregularies what so ever sustained on the premises. In case of any dispute Dutch law will apply. The route to reach us will be send on request.
And who are we?
We, Herman and Gerda, are agricultural farmers and living at Westerwolde for may generations. Through the years we changed from mixed farming to agriculture and potatoes are our core business. The holiday farmhouse is part of our enterprise, consisting of two farmhouses, sheds and many acres of land. The holiday farmhouse is located approx. 2 km from our own farm, wherefore 100% privacy is guaranteed.
